Trimming Your Plane

Reviewed by Troy Stotts 2004

The kit contains a full set of easy to read plans and instructions.
I wanted a lot of response from the model so I increased the size of all control surfaces which had some effect on the way it flew compared to a stock unaltered kit.
I found the kit easy and straight forward in building resulting in a light plane.  It can be built as a tail dragger or with a trike gear.  I chose the tail drag option for my model.  I powered the model with an OS FX 46 but I think a .40 engine would give you all the power you would need.
It required several flights to get the trim dialed in and properly balanced but I found it to be very responsive yet stable to fly once properly trimmed.  I tend to get all the roll I have room for on the take offs but this model really did not need a lot of ground speed to get in the air.
The landings were easy enough.  With a fairly low stall speed it does tend to stay in the air so set it down early to prevent over running the runway.

Easy flyer for an intermediate pilot.
