Trimming Your Plane

Raising the fuel tank blocked the original windshield so I fabricated a new canopy on top of the wing.  Although this change gives the appearance of a shoulder mounted wing it will still have the flying characteristics of the original high wing design.  Looks can be deceiving.

Up

Shaping up the rear of the canopy I soaked the wood in water and laid it over the framework holding it in place with a rubber band till it dried.
Before I get into covering here's a trick I picked up from somewhere.
Separating the covering from the backing can be a bit of a trick.  Try using scotch tape on both sides of the backed covering and simply pull them apart
After shaping and sanding the rear section of the canopy it was covered in Metallic Blue and carried out 4" on to the wing.
