The Cuban 8 is a figure 8 laying on its side with rolls at the cross over point.
- Start with the wind or down wind.
- Start the maneuver at full power and parallel to the runway.
- Pull up like you are going to do a loop.
- Wait until the plane is slightly nose down
- "Release all the elevator"( this is important)
- Roll right side up.
- Continue downward until you are at the same altitude as when you started and then pull up into the partial loop
again. This will complete the "8".
Tips and Reminders
 | Always do it down wind. |
 | Use a shallow angle to start with. |
 | Increase as you gain proficiency. |
 | Release all the up elevator before you roll right side up. |
