The Cuban 8 is a figure 8 laying on its side with rolls at the cross over point. 
  1. Start with the wind or down wind.
  2. Start the maneuver at full power and parallel to the runway.
  3.  Pull up like you are going to do a loop. 
  4. Wait until the plane is slightly nose down
  5. "Release all the elevator"( this is important)
  6. Roll right side up. 
  7. Continue downward until you are at the same altitude as when you started and then pull up into the partial loop again.  This will complete the "8". 

    Tips and Reminders
bulletAlways do it down wind. 
bulletUse a shallow angle to start with. 
bullet Increase as you gain proficiency. 
bulletRelease all the up elevator before you roll right side up.
