Troy
has been building flying models since 1956 and still enjoys the challenge
of building and/ or assembling a kit, ARF or a custom design and seeing them
fly the way they are intended to fly. The difference between the average flying model and a finely built and trimmed model is an experience you should not miss. A well built plane not only performs well it is much easier to fly and land. This is especially true for the beginner or novice flyer. Far to many new to the hobby attempt to fly an improperly built aircraft just to see the plane destroyed the first time out and as a result become discouraged and drop out of the hobby before having a fair chance to really find the joy it can bring. Don't be fooled by how easy and simple an ARF (almost ready to fly) kit is advertised to build. Proper installation of radio gear, mounting and aligning stabs and wings installing servos and adjusting proper travel of control surfaces as well as setting the engine up with the proper thrust angles takes a certain amount of skill and experience. . We check every aspect of the kit for flaws that often appear in mass produced models and take the utmost care in insuring proper alignment and balance of the aircraft. After assembly we carefully trim the plane to factory recommended settings including mixing and setting expo and dual rates if you use a computer radio system followed by starting and running in your engine carefully adjusting the air/fuel mixtures as well as throttle linkages. Your plane will be ready to take to the field for a trouble free first flight. Just fuel, start and fly. The plane should be flight tested by an experienced pilot and trimmed in the air at 1/2 throttle to fly flat and level. Leave the trim settings undisturbed and return the plane and transmitter to us and we will make the mechanical adjustments required to set your plane in trim with zero trim settings. Whether you let us build your model or decide to take on that task for yourself we wish you the best. There are a lot of information and data on this site to assist you in that endeavor. Please feel free to use any information you find here to that end. A tip to the wise... May the air under your wings always be good winds. Remember take offs are optional, landings are mandatory. |
